Welcome to The Mixed Archive — a library of the lovely and the lost.
I’m Em, a future music educator, lifelong learner, and writer at heart. I’ve been writing since I was about ten years old, and over the years, my words have taken many forms — research papers, poems, blog posts, and even my own book, which is currently being edited.
I’ve always been drawn to stories that linger — the ones found in forgotten scores, dark histories, or the quiet moments of teaching and creating. This space is where all of those fascinations meet.
Here, you’ll find reflections on music and education, deep dives into true crime and history, glimpses into archival work, and bits of creative writing that explore the art of feeling and understanding.
The Mixed Archive is my way of collecting what moves me — the beautiful, the tragic, and everything that falls somewhere in between.
Even the quietest stories deserve to be remembered.
